The British Weight Lifters’ Association


In accordance with Article 43 of the BWLA Articles, the BWLA will establish an English Committee to oversee the BWLA Development Plan funded by Sport England. The English Committee will oversee all activities covered by the Development Plan, which may assist other regions of the United Kingdom.

The BWLA have appointed Chris Freebury, BWLA Executive Board member as the Chairman of English Committee, and the BWLA are looking for additional officers to assist in the task of overseeing the Development Plan for 2009 – 2013 and following the model of the Sport England Strategy “Grow, Sustain and Excel”. The additional honorary officers required to complete the English Committee are: Performance Manager, Championships Manager, Development Manager and Coach Education Manager and three non-executive officers whose experience will provide skills to assist the Development plan.
