Level 3 - The BWLA Regional Coach Award
 
The holding of a BWLA Instructor Award is a prerequisite to progressing to the grade of BWLA Coach. Intended for those wishing to give instruction in all aspects of weight training and weightlifting; and assisting on courses up to Instructor level.

This is a two part course each being of two days duration: Part 2 must be attempted within two years of passing Part 1; failure to do so will necessitate the taking of Part 1 again.

Course content for Part 1 will include:
Coach and lifter relationship - Analysis of the Snatch and Clean & Jerk - Review of mechanical factors - Training plans - Concept of a 10 week training plan. - Effects of advanced training - Selection and development of junior lifters - The coach and competitions.

Candidate Assessment.
A two hour written paper on course material.
A group topic preparation and presentation.

Course content for Part 2 will include:
Basic exercise physiology - Basic sports psychology - Diet avoidance and treatment of bodyweight control - Avoidance and treatment of bodyweight control - Power, speed and fitness training for weightlifting.

Candidate Assessment.
A two hour written paper on course material.
